Etchy is a notebook for handwriting on iPhone, iPad and Mac. What you write stays on your devices, and in your own iCloud account if you use iCloud.

What Etchy collects

Nothing. The app has no account, no analytics and no advertising, and it sends nothing about you or your notes to its developer.

What stays on your device

Your notebooks, in Etchy's own folder on each device, and your settings: the look, the app icon and your pens.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, Etchy keeps your notebooks in step between your devices through Apple's CloudKit, in your own private iCloud database. That storage is Apple's and is covered by Apple's privacy terms; the developer cannot see it. Turning iCloud off for Etchy in Settings keeps your notebooks on each device and stops the syncing.
